I can’t speak highly enough about this place. They do exceptional work and have taken exceptional care of our dog.  When I leave her off at daycare, I feel like they really love her and do their very best to provide take care of her.  They give us updates, they take pictures of her and, of course, they play and interact with her. They even go through extra mile to take our last minute requests when they can. Avoid boarding your dog at Top Notch Pet Resort!!! Our experience was nothing short of traumatic. We dropped off our healthy 8mth old German Shepherd, expecting him to be cared for while we were away. Instead, we picked up a critically ill dog who had to be rushed directly from the facility to the emergency veterinary hospital. He was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and required oxygen therapy, IV antibiotics, IV fluids, and hospitalization. We were told his condition was life-threatening, and there were moments when we weren't sure he was going to survive. We have since confirmed that he contracted the infection while at the facility. What is even more upsetting is that no one informed us that he was becoming seriously ill while in their care. We were also told that he had been eating all of his food, yet he came home having lost a significant amount of weight. Had we been notified at the first signs that something was wrong, we could have sought veterinary care sooner. No family should have to endure the heartbreak of watching their beloved dog fight for his life after what was supposed to be a routine boarding stay. The emotional stress, sleepless nights, and thousands of dollars in emergency veterinary care could have been avoided. I am sharing our experience because I don't want another family to go through what we did. If you are considering boarding your pet here, I urge you to think carefully and ask hard questions about how they monitor dogs, recognize signs of illness, communicate with owners, and prevent the spread of infectious respiratory disease. We trusted Top Notch Pet Resort with our dog, and that trust was shattered. First and last time using this kennel to watch my dog. They had my 7 month old German Shepherd for 7 days. According to them they noticed something wrong with him the morning of the last day. They did not call and notify us and when my wife picked him up he had a 106 temperature and full blown pneumonia. He had to be rushed to the emergency vet and put on oxygen for 24 hrs. When talking to them they tried to accuse my dog of being a silent carrier when he was the one that was sick and neglected under their watch. Now I'm stuck with the $5000 vet bill. Even the vet stated not to use them as they get a lot of patients from them. To add to their reply. They sent a report card that contained very little information and they provided two pictures of him biting at a water hose. Out biggest concern involves why wasn't anything done once staff realized something was wrong. Yes I was refunded the $500 for the stay but still have to pay for a $5000 vet bill with continued costs due to our dog having pneumonia and their negligence.

If you want your dog to end up sick and require a hospital stay for kennel cough, pneumonia, lethargy and a 4 pound weight loss despite reports from staff saying “the dog is eating all of his food and is doing well”, but upon pickup get told “oh, we were just about to call you. The dog declined overnight”, then definitely come here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Very neglectful and almost caused a family to lose their beloved fur baby!

★☆☆☆☆ ONE STAR. Disappointed after years of loyalty We have trusted Top Notch with our dog since she was three months old. She is now 13. We live an hour and a half away and have kept making the drive because this is where our pup grew up, had lessons with Lisa and we believed in the quality of care here. After our most recent visit, that trust is gone. Our pup was signed up for both boarding and grooming. We expected her usual grooming, which has always included a haircut (a sani cut), the same service she has received for years. Instead, she came home bathed only, with no haircut at all. When I raised this, I was told the staff had looked at her chart, seen that she had been bathed the last couple of times, and assumed bathing was all that was needed. That assumption was wrong. In all our years coming here, Ellie has never been groomed without a haircut. No one called to confirm before making that decision, even though we had driven 90 minutes, and clearly booked grooming. Just as concerning, we were given no report card when we picked her up from boarding. Our pup is older now and has declined physically since her last stay. We were genuinely worried about whether she could keep up with the other animals, and we received no update at all on how she did. After trusting this facility with her care, being handed back our dog with no information was unacceptable. When I asked to speak with a manager, the associate I spoke with told me that the grooming manager was the only manager on site, that she was unavailable, and that no other manager was available to talk to me. I understand the business has changed ownership. The staff may be the same, but the quality of service is not what it was. Because of this experience, we will be looking for a new groomer and a new place to board our pup. I am sharing this so other pet owners know exactly what to expect and can make an informed decision before investing in boarding and grooming here.

Ever since the change in management the service has gone down. I can tell the employees are no longer treated well. Will not be supporting another business that’s now a sellout. They were great before they changed management.
